Nelliyampathy
About 75 kms from Palghat, the Nelliyampathy hills are a chain
of ridges and valleys covered with dense evergreen forests. The
height ranges from
467 meters to the highest peak Padagiri which is 1572 meters above
sea level.
At least 10 hairpin bends have to be negotiated on the ghat road
that  passes
through the breathtaking evergreen forests of the sahya ranges.
Seethakundu at nellyampathy offers a panoramic view of about one
third the are of palakkad district.The drive from Palghat is itself
fascinating as it opens before you a view of blue-purple hills and
thick tropical forests. There are some excellent places for stop
overs on the way.Nelliyampathy is good for trekkers too.
Nelliyampathy is about two and-a-half hours drive from Palghat
and about 4 hours from Calicut.
